Purpose and Objective of this Group
The purpose of this group is to connect people seeking transport with drivers for private (pet) animal transport. The Roadrunners 4 Pets group is purely a matching platform — a network of private drivers. Responsibility for the process lies with the client (rescue organisation, foster carer, animal shelter) and the driver. Liability for any damages (to the animal or the vehicle) rests with the client or the respective rescue/shelter organisation. We primarily transport dogs and cats within Germany and to neighbouring countries. We drive for clubs, organisations, and private individuals.
Our Rules:
- Always treat each other in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Only ride requests and ride offers are welcome in the group — no advertising, no animal rehoming posts, etc.
- The per-kilometre rate is based on a voluntary/honorary basis and is up to 30 ct/km; our drivers operate within this framework. This is an expense reimbursement only.
- Payments are generally made in advance, unless other arrangements have been agreed upon.
Anyone is welcome to offer rides or respond to ride requests here. For ride offers, please always contact one of the admins or moderators directly — please do not use private messages. We want full transparency for everyone.
Please always exchange your complete contact details with each other — full name, address, phone numbers, etc.
The following information is required for transport:
- Postcode of pick-up location / destination
- Shoulder height of the animal
- Fixed date or flexible travel
Key Terms:
- Special trip (single trip) → A driver makes a dedicated trip specifically for your animal and transports only your animal.
- Combined trip → Your animal travels along with another transport; the cost is calculated based on the distance your animal travels.
- Shared ride (MFG) → Your animal travels with someone who is already making that journey anyway.
