Frankfurt 11.August 2021

UPDATE: THIS FLIGHT IS NOW FULL. SEE BELOW FOR GALLERY Flight: Larnaca to Frankfurt via Athens. 05.15. 10.20 Total of 5 Boxes, 1 Cabin Space reserved. Up to 10 Animals (2 Passengers) Contact for Space and Details. Mission Accomplished My Wife Yolande and myself had an eventful Flight with 8 Dogs for Hundeliebe Grenzenlos who managed to find new Homes for these Shelter Dogs. I also had 1 Cat in Cabin with me by the Name of PEACH, but actually it should have been named ESCAPE ARTIST. As the Cabin Bag was under my Seat I did not notice that PEACH had somehow managed to open the zip and had escaped into the Wide Wide World of the Aircraft just as we were ready to take off. The Stewardess or Hygiene Attendants were not too impressed but the other Passengers found it very funny that there was a Cat running around the Cabin.Eventually PEACH was caught and brought back to us to be LOCKED UP again. As always the “Ankunftsteam” from Hundeliebe Grenzenlos did their perfect Job of assisting us with the Task of getting the Crates out from the SPERRGUT Area to the excited and waiting ADOPTERS in the Arrival Hall at Frankfurt Airport.

Yet another successful Rescue Flight from Larnaka (Cyprus) to Frankfurt (Germany). Some Coshit-19 Restrictions in Germany (coming from Cyprus) have been lifted, so traveling was much easier than in previous weeks. Again, many people were involved in this from the start whoever picked the Stray Cats up from the Street, fostered them in their Homes in Cyprus, took them to the Vet, paid their Bills, got up at 1 am in the morning to drive to the Airport and those who offered them a new Home in Germany. Teamwork! NEXT STOP:ZÜRICH :) Some of the Lucky Ones :)

10 Cyprus Rescue Cats (Lexi, Crossy, Zorro, Richi, Bamboo, Bolt, Viviane, Prince, Cindy and last but not least BooBoo ) had a chance of a better life in Germany and Italy. Flight to Munich was arranged with Aegean as we can take 5 Pets per Person with that Airline. (Other Airlines take less Pets per Person) Some of the Helpers and Adopters who made this possible: (Sorry, I  do not know all of them/you) Tzi Tzi Elzbieta Olejniczak Savva Barbara Casselini Natalia Losi Sabine Brockerhoff Juliett Posselt John and Carmen Birdsall Tina Reinke Cetty Thanks also to Silke at fellnasentaxi.de for taking some Cats further. (Fellnasentaxi.de is a Network of private Individuals who can provide suitable Pet Transport from any Airport in Germany to a final Destination.) and many more you helped before and after. My Wife, Yolande accompanied me on this Flight 10 Cyprus Rescue Cats on flightparent ! On a personal note and in case somebody else needs to fly to Munich and is looking for good affordable Accommodation: We stayed in FREISING at the Hotel Mercure, which was a better choice than going into Munich.Trains from Munich Airport to Munich HBF are € 11.20 one way, so for 2 People there and back to Airport it’s nearly € 50.00. Whereas going to FREISING just take the Bus (Nr 365) from the Airport at € 3.40. The Hotel was excellent and Staff very accommodating and friendly. Right behind the Hotel is the Old Town (Altstadt-City Center)

Rescue Flight to Frankfurt (CANCELED)

Rescue Flight to Frankfurt (20.February 2021) On February 20th, 10 Cats were supposed to fly out to new forever homes in Germany. #aegeanair first cancelled the Flight and moved it to the 22nd of Feb. which left us with the Headache of finding another One Way Return Flight on the 23rd of Feb. Not even half way through that Issue, #aegeanair cancelled the 22nd of Feb as well, leaving us with NO FLIGHT. BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD FOR MARCH. For other Rescuers or Overnight Stayers I can recommend Hotel Münchner Hof. At only about € 50.00 to €60.00 per Night WITH Breakfast for 2 Guests (depending on your dates of course) it is very good Value for Money and best location for me. This privately run 3-star hotel near Frankfurt’s Train Station offers free internet access throughout. The hotel’s Ari Rang Restaurant serves Asian specialties. The rooms at the Hotel Münchner Hof feature a mini-bar, free Wi-Fi, and pay TV channels. The Münchner Hof’s breakfast buffet is served in the dining room, where there is also an internet terminal which can be used by guests for free. Frankfurt’s Train Station is just 150 m away from the Münchner Hof. The famous Zeil shopping street, Frankfurt’s financial district and the historic city center are all just a short walk away.

We helped re locate 15 Dogs from Cyprus to the UK (via Brussels) A Team Effort as usual with lots of people involved. Lots behind the scene without names but still helping. Without them it would not be possible. Thanks to Animals and Friends Pound who rescued these Dogs in the first Place and all Volunteers who get up in the middle of the Night to deliver the Dogs to Larnaca Airport. From Brussels the ‘European Team’ of 101Petexpress took over as usual with Efficiency to get the precious Cargo to the UK and their new adopted Homes.

Stuttgart Rescue Flight with 9 Cats 4th of August 2020

On the 4th of August we took 9 Cats in 7 Crates from Larnaca to Stuttgart. Most of these Cats were Strays and would not easily survive in Cyprus on the Roads.Babs Mardell and countless others (which I do not know Names of but they also did a lot of Work) arranged this Rescue Flight for us. All Crates , Cats were delivered successfully at Stuttgart Airport to their New Owners.

Busy June/July

WoW, June/July have been busy months for me as Flightescort.Some people expected (or are still expecting) a second Wave of C, and wanted to get as many Dogs and Cats out of Cyprus as possible. Additionally some of my Flights pre C had been cancelled but still needed to be done. Larnaka Airport partially re opened again on June 9th. Our first flight was already on June 14, but because Aegean was not yet fully operational we had to use Lufthansa. 2 seperate Flights in June with Lufthansa to Frankfurt, then 5th of July to Berlin, 10th of July to Düsseldorf, 14th of July back to Frankfurt, 22nd of July Düsseldorf again and finally 25th to Hamburg. August won’t be so crazy as a lot of Adopters are on Holiday and also Ticket Prices are steep. Clocked up a lot of Air Miles but because of C could not make full use of them. Fast Lane (Priority Boarding) has currently been disabled, and the normally quite nice Food in the Business Lounges has been replaced with ‘pandemic food’. (speak individually wrapped Sandwiches) They must be saving a ton of Money in their Catering Dept.:) First Destination in August will be Stuttgart, then it’s Düsseldorf again and later on back to Brussels to help some Dogs get to the UK, in Co-operation with 101 Pet Express

Pre #coronavirus Lockdown Escort Flight to Düsseldorf on the 11.March 2020 We took 10 Cats various Shapes, Sizes and Conditions from Cyprus to Germany and Holland to their New Homes. Thank you to all involved, from Fosters in Cyprus to Adopters in Germany and Holland.This has been for now our last Flight as we are currently grounded in Cyprus due to the Corona Crisis. Hopefully we can resume flying Pets out of Cyprus in the very near Future.
