At Argos we believe that every animal has the right to a happy and healthy life full of love. We do our best to make our dream happen. We currently give homes to over 300 cats and dogs that have been either abused, abandoned or injured. Our main aim is to care for them and ensure their well being until a new home can be found.
We provide a lifeline from the streets to the safety of our shelter. Help us to protect them, care for them and reach our goal of finding each animal a loving new home.
Cydra – Cyprus Dogsrehomingassociation
We are a volunteer network of dog lovers who have worked for several years in the various dog shelters in Cyprus, mainly in the Limassol and Paphos area, and also in Larnaca.
We understand only too well the difficulties that these shelters experience in the excellent work that they do.
One of the main problems that they all face is that the number of dogs coming into the shelters far exceeds the number they can home. To balance this supply and demand problem they have to regrettably resort to euthanasia.
Our association exists to promote the re-homing of dogs from the shelters we are partners with both into Europe and within Cyprus itself and we operate with the full approval of the Animal Health and Welfare Division of the Ministry of Agriculture of Cyprus.
Whilst we appreciate all the amazing work done on the island by many people to re-home Cyprus dogs and cats, to ensure that CYDRA always operates within the law and to maintain are standards at all times, we will not accept requests to advertise dogs that are not sponsored by CYDRA and we will not accept requests for donations or funding.

The effort is big and we will need good support..!

Noah’s Ark Dog Shelter Cyprus:
If you would like to donate to help Maria to run Noah’s Ark, the PayPal is: email@example.com
The shelter faces an uphill battle for funding, maintenance, food for the dogs and vets bills. These are met from donations, boarding dogs and Maria’s own private funds. Noah’s Ark receives no help from the government or municipality at all, yet Maria cares for numerous dogs and puppies who have been abandoned.

Paralimni Dog Pound is run by volunteers whose aim is to find permanent homes for the many stray and abandoned dogs who are found wandering the streets.
Most of these dogs are unwanted and have been abandoned to the streets by their owners.
They feel lost, confused and all they want is a warm home with a loving family where they can feel safe.
We try to find homes both here in Cyprus and also abroad. We also badly need people in Cyprus to foster for varying lengths of time whilst our furry friends wait for a loving permanent home or whilst waiting to be flown to a new home abroad.
Saving Pound Dogs – Cyprus [SPDC] is a group of volunteers trying to save dogs that have ended up in various local dog pounds. By working in co-operation with the local pounds, we try to identify the owners of lost dogs through various channels.
If unsuccessful, we try to find new homes for our furry friends, either in Cyprus or abroad.
SPDC has a sanctuary near Nicosia and also use foster homes to take care of the abandoned, abused and neglected dogs in our care. All our work is undertaken by volunteers and we rely totally on donations.
As well as the Nicosia Sanctuary SPDC have responsibility for the dogs in a municipality pound in Limassol.
What we do is to: – engage in improving the life of a dog whilst in the pound – work with the local vets to make sure that the pound dogs are treated, if sick – strive to keep the dogs healthy at all times – search for foster homes or, even better, forever homes – organize fundraisers etc. in order to try to raise funds and support in the local community. – all dogs adopted through SPDC come with Rescue Back Up for life.
All actions done by the affiliated dog pounds are under the umbrella of SPDC.

Tala Monastary Cats are a Volunteer group who feed and care for the cats that live at Ayios Neophytos Monastery, Tala.
For many years, stray cats have lived around the Agios Neofytos Monastery in Tala, Paphos.
By June 2011 this number grew to a steady colony of approximately 70 cats, all living at the Monastery Cafe. The colony was moved down the road to the existing site of the Cat Park where volunteers fed the cats twice per day. Cats were regularly dumped but the numbers always stayed the same, as some cats died through illness or infection and kittens sadly rarely survived.
