Helping Hands Cat Shop Paralimni I am always surprised that there are still quite a few people who do not know this Charity Shop which does a lot of work for the local Stray Cat Population. They have some really nice Quality Stuff for Sale (got to be lucky sometimes to find a real Bargain there), Books, Toys, Bric-a-Bric, Puzzles, Clothing, etc. Everything to keep them busy. You can also lend Cat Cages there if you need a Cage to transport your Cat and do not want to buy one for just one Occasion All Proceed go to help with Cat Food or Neutering. You can go there and get a reduced Voucher for Male or Female Cat Sterilization for the Vet of your Choice (in Paralimni) Please ask current Prices but I think Voucher for Female is € 25.00 and Male is € 20.00 After the Operation I think you just need to pay € 10.00 for the Antibiotics at the Vet. Opening Times are: 9am until 12.45 Monday to Saturday You can find it on the Road from the Zorbas Bakery Round a bout in Pernera going up to the old Orphanides (Now Metro) on the right side BEFORE the Furry Friends Vet.(Google Map ) Give them a Call or better visit them.

There is still much uncertainty about the new rules. Rules as they stand on the website of the RVO (Dutch government agency for Entrepreneurship). FOUNDATION & ORGANIZATIONS (In Dutch, Use Google Chrome Browser OR a Translation Plugin to switch to English) The rules that your foundation has to comply with are listed here. TIP: If you make use of host families, please check if your host families comply with the rules! HOSTFAMILY (In Dutch, Use Google Chrome Browser OR a Translation Plugin to switch to English) Here you will find all the regulations that host families have to comply with. TIP: A distinction is made between host families who provide childcare on a commercial basis and those who do it on a hobby basis. ADOPTERS (In Dutch, Use Google Chrome Browser OR a Translation Plugin to switch to English) For adopters, not much will change. Unless they adopt a dog or cat directly from abroad. There is animal police in every district. Working from 7am to 7pm and after hours there is a response from the police stations. For Paphos the Main Switch Board is 26806530, 26806002 and if no answer then Nicosia main HQ 22808080 and ask to be put you through to the Paphos police station.
Also you can report to the District Veterinary office Paphos 26821260, 26821258. Other Veterinary Offices can be found here.

I know that -ideally- Shelters would prefer to find a Flight parent (Difference between a Flightparent and a Flightescort) as it will be cheaper for them,  but sometimes there just isn’t any available,  or others cannot fly due to Work or Family Commitments or other Reasons. I can fly most times, with Aegean Airlines I am allowed up to  5 Pets in Hold. I LOVE traveling and seeing new Places. But-of course- it takes Money and Time. Time I have enough, but NOT the other Ingredient :). I have made several Trips as Flight Escort for Rescue or Shelter Pets from Larnaka (Cyprus) to various EU Destinations and am mostly available. I know and have flown with Pets in Hold (and Cabin) to Brussels, Paris, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and others. I have met up with various Animal Couriers or private Individuals in those Airports who either took the Rescue Animals further on in their Journey OR offered them a loving forever Home. In SOME Cases I will pay for my own Hotel Stay and all other related Expenses such as Transport to and from the Airports, Parking, Food etc. etc. All YOU need to provide is the actual Airline Ticket. We will meet at the Airport (mostly Larnaka of course), check in the Crates and on the other End I will meet up with the Couriers OR New Pet Owners. Your Pets should be ready to fly with all the necessary Paperwork. (EU Pet Passport or Traces where applicable) Your local Vet can advise you what your Pet will need to be able to Travel. Also please make sure the Crates you are using are Airline Approved.(Further Information on Crate Sizes and General IATA Pet Travel Regulations are here.) Up to FIVE dogs / Cats  can be added to one passenger ticket  and they are handled as oversize luggage i.e. they will be checked at the special counter for Oversized Luggage (Sperrgut).   If you are a registered Cyprus shelter, or a rescue group, you can register with us here on the Forum. Please note, ANIMALS MUST HAVE ALL PAPERWORK IN PLACE TO TRAVEL I can fly from other Airports as well but it would be more expensive as I will first need to get there and later return from there.
