Took 3 Cats to Frankfurt to their New Forever Home in Germany. Thank you to Sabrina Ferry and Samira for arranging and helping.
Some Covid-19 Flight Procedure Info:
1. Departure Larnaca pretty much normnal.
Pay Crate Fees
Deliver Crates to Excess Luggage
Check them through either through the Scanning Tunnel or Manually.
N.B. No Food on Plane, Lounges are Closed, Most Shops past the Security Checks are closed , there is one or two Coffee Shops open.
2. Arrival Frankfurt pretty normal apart from there is currently Passport Control, also as this time it was a direct Flight I came from a NON-Schengen Country, so there would be Passport Control. Pet Crates went out though without any Checks. Delivered to new Owners or Recipients. No Issues.
3. Depart Frankfurt to Vienna (Wien)-As usual. But Airport pretty empty.
4.In Vienna there was pretty strict Control regarding the Cyprus Flight Pass. If you do NOT have it you cannot board a Plane to Cyprus. You can however have a printed Version with you or fill it out there and then. (Holding up the Queue :) , so come prepared!
5. Arrival at Larnaca. Absolute Shambles as was to be expected!
They have RANDOM COVID-19 testing. Not individual randoms, but PLANE Randoms. I got “lucky” and my Plane got selected for Random Testing all 200 or whatever Passengers on it.
People and Tourists were not happy to stand in a Queue for Testing after a Flight.
4 Cubicles open for testing a whole Plane load of passengers?
Took me about 1 Hour to get tested. Several Passenger made Cell Phone Photos (incl. me) of the chaotic Situation. They called the police to force us to delete the Photos of our Cell Phones as it is apparently illegal to take Photos of People in the Airport.
To make it Clear, I do not have a Problem to get tested etc. but get your Organization right. Not going to attract much needed Tourists this way, that’s for sure. One Guy in the Queue called his Lawyer to make a Case. Next Week I might be “lucky” again. (to get a FREE Corona Test).
I know, they are ONLY doing their Job, but it should be more professionally done!
